Wacoal, Japanese intimate wear brand, has launched a campaign Wacoal Loves Everybody to help raise awareness that women don‘t come in one-size-fits-all.
The main reason for this campaign is to help women to comprehend how their bodies change as they age. Wacoal‘s Human Science Research in Japan gathered the measurements of more than 40.000 women‘s bodies and tracked the changes in their shapes in a span of 30 years. According to Wacoal, women‘s breasts go through a few stages:
- Stage 0 (around 20 years old) is when the breasts are highest and firmest;
- Stage 1 (30s) is when breasts start to sag from the upper part and they start to lose their firmness;
- Stage 2 (40s) is when the nipples begin to point downward;
- Stage 3 (50s to 60s) is when the law of gravity takes over.
For the first time in 25 years of Wacoal‘s history, the president, Ann Christine Palisoc is a woman. She held a huge celebration of 25 years anniversary with a thanksgiving dinner. The celebration was dedicated to company‘s employees, partners and business subsidiaries.
Takashi Iwasaki, the chairman and CEO of Philippine Wacoal Corp., said that the company was founded to acknowledge the needs of a latter-day woman and this vision has not changed. This is the reason that company is still successful.
Wacoal has been growing over the years and is now one of the most distributed brands in the country. It has 52 department stores, three online stores and eight direct sales branches.
