Those were three busy and exciting days in the beginning of July when the 31st Mode City and Interfilière Paris trade shows were held together in Paris.
This year USA and Canadian markets were at the spotlight of the Mode City. Innovative areas of the 2014 exhibition area included vibrant Trend Boutique as well as playful ‘Super Heroes’ area featuring menswear.
Meanwhile Interfilière Paris featured the ‘Star Fibres’ space as well as new ‘Momenti di Passione’ area dedicated to innovation and performance in the beachwear and leisure apparel markets.
The whole event was spiced up with the Absolute summer event that sought to repeat last year’s success by entertaining general public on artificial Californian style beach.
Half of huge hall at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, belonging to Mode City, was ‘brands and boutiques’ space where producers of lingerie, swimwear, loungewear and other related items have brought their collections for spring-summer 2015.
Some brands like Jolidon and Ysabel Mora demonstrated lively fashion shows in their stands. The dancing models attracted much of the audience every time they showed up on their catwalks in the trendy pieces of beachwear.
Others, like Maison Close or Sonia featured smiling models demonstrating the best outcomes of designers’ latest hard work.
Some renowned brands chose to offer fashion shows for their current and prospect buyers behind those extravagant walls of their luxury stands.
In total Mode City welcomed 450 brands from 41 countries, including 130 new exhibitors. During the 6-8th July they were visited by over 15000 professionals.
Hottest place on the Mode City trade show was definitely the catwalk. Three fashion shows daily: lingerie, swimwear and… ‘the selection’, a unique show featuring the upcoming season’s most iconic and original designs in just 30 minutes sharp.
As men’s fashion was one of the main features of the 31st Mode city Trade show, number of great swimwear pieces for men appeared on catwalk as well.
Meanwhile the Conference room, main lingerie trends for Fall / Winter 2015-2016 as well as lingerie and swimwear Summer 2016 previews were introduced by prominent fashion and lifestyle trend agencies such as Concepts Paris, Peclers, Nelly Rodi and Promostyl.
Intima group brought results of their beachwear survey bringing together results of 360 boutiques in Europe and overseas, while Eurovet, the organiser of the Mode City Paris announced some valuable awards. Designer of the year title was given to American designer Melissa Odabash. Beachwear designers of the year award went to Italian fabric manufacturer SITIP.
Despite the annoying rain sprinkling Paris that weekend, Absolute Summer was a place shining faces and hot bodies. This special space just outside the Paris Expo offered its visitors opportunity to meet new exhibitors, a young designers shop by Dr. Summer, a lingerie and swimwear boutique / consultation centre with Glamour Lingerie, zumba classes, surf-fitness classes, high energy fashion shows, and much more.
It was the second year of Absolute Summer. It’s original and interactive format last year as acknowledged by general public and professionals as a fabulous open-air laboratory for ideas and tips.
