A new lingerie line is designed thinking specifically about plus-size women, with designs that are incredibly stylish and flattering.
Sophie Theallet for Lane Bryant collection features slips, bras and nightgowns in lace and floral silk patterns, with band sizes from 38 to 44 inches and cup sizes ranging from C to H. Unlike the beige stretch-band intimates which are usually associated with plus-size lingerie, these pieces are as feminine and flirty as any straight-sized line. Sleepwear and underwear will be available up to a size 26/28.
Some of the apparel have mesh inserts and romantic lace cutouts, adding to the classy sex appeal. The designs are supportive and not constrictive at all, creating the perfect amount of lift for curvier women.
The face of the collection is a model Marquita Pring. She is signed to IMG models.
The line will be sold under Lane Bryant lingerie brand Cacique. The price will be from 19.95 US Dollars for underwear to 108 US Dollars for corsets. It will be available in stores as well as on-line.
In March, when the cooperation was first announced, Lane Bryant CEO Linda Heasley explained that it was high time for the label to branch out into sexier styles. She said that they wanted something a little risqué and that she thinks that the nice apparel should not be limited to size 12 and under.
Ms. Theallet’s clients included such people like Michelle Obama. She had worked for Azzedine Alaia and Jean-Paul Gaultier before she decided to branch out and launch her own brand in 2007.
